Nice thoughts, neilchok. On the news, over where I am, it looks terrible. Whole neighbourhoods laid to waste as if they never existed. People aren't just losing their home, the identity of the places they have lived all their lives has been wiped out.

Had friends who have evacuted but not burned--yet. Pacific Pallisades WAS really nice if snobby. This thing isn't close to over yet 10% contained.
