Sinner is the favorite at an implied probability of winning at 68.25%. Just the way it is. If anyone feels otherwise, there is certainly easy money to be made.

These 2 semis tomorrow are both very compelling to me. Unusually compelling. I am picking Fritz in an upset, the biggest win of his career, but I am not betting on it.

Fritz and Carlos are first up tomorrow. Fritz has a decent chance. He’s served 63% first serves in and won 85% of those so far this tournament. He will need to keep that consistency up to have a chance to win, but it’s doable. That said, I think people read too much into Carlos’s highs and lows in matches.. He’s been like that since day one and it hasn’t stopped him winning an awful lot of tournaments so far. He can really turn it up when he has to. He’s awfully good at doing that.

I have Sinner as slight favourite in the other semi, but I'm more interested in Fritz vs Carlos to be honest. I hope Fritz can step up.

A puncher's chance for sure. On the matchup side, Fritz's excellent backhand service return is a good counter to Carlos' heavy reliance on kick serves.

As for Sinner-Djokovic, I've got PTSD from the NBA finals where I watched Jayson Tatum, Halliburton, and Lillard all go down with non-contact achilles snaps. Then there was Grigor Dimitrov hitting an ace and grabbing his chest. So, every time Jannik mishits a ball and grabs his elbow I cringe

This is to me a great lesson where the Coach piggybacks on post match remarks from Sheldon after Sinner match.

Taylor wins the 2nd set to even match at 1 set all. The betting odds have changed, Alcaraz was at an implied probability of winning at about 83%. Now Alcaraz at an implied probability of winning at 73%.

Not the best of matches to watch so far but things are now weighing heavily in Carlos’s favour. The chipped forehand return is never going to bring up much change for Fritz. He needs to return better than that when the opportunities present themselves.

                        Fritz T - Alcaraz C https://en.tennistemple.com/r/match_9427826

Break points probably the most telling stat here. Fritz is playing well, but he is up against it

Fritz played a superb match to me. Alcaraz just too good.

Well, this was predicted. I just got home and turned on the Sinner-Djokovic semi and Sinner is up two sets and -- surprise -- Djokovic is having a medical time out.

To the chair's credit the medical time out actually ended at the legal 3 minutes.

From the announcers, this looks like a real injury. Something about a fall late in the prior match.

And like that Djokovic breaks. Fowler: "Can the trainer visit have made this much of a difference?" McEnroe "That's what I want to know." Suddenly, Djokovic can move! He's hitting harder. Sinner, coming out of the delay, tightens up. Pace down. Tentative. Dumps a drop shot in the bottom of the net.

                            Magical MTO !

Jannik Sinner becomes the 5th man to make all four 'slam finals?

Fed, Rafa, Djokovic, Murray and Sinner. I'd forgotten that Carlos has never made the Aussie final. Not even the semis. Had to look that up to refresh my memory. Takes his "annual vacation" from after the US Open until Indian Wells/ Clay.
