Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray

Andy was a tough out for Roger...particularly in the beginning. I wonder if the net results would have changed if Roger had played with the new equipment his entire career. I have to believe it would have been an entirely different story.

Versus Boris Becker...Lendl born 1960 and Becker born 1967. Seven years difference makes a difference at a certain point. Lendl led 11-10 in the end.

Versus Stefan Edberg...Edberg born born in 1966. Six years difference favoring Edberg. Edberg led 14-13 in the end. Edberg was 8-4 from 1990 on when Lendl reached thirty years old.

Lendl was one of my absolute favorites, the first player to introduce supreme fitness into the game. Now, it is a given. Also the first to introduce a freshly restrung racquet every few games or so. He was disparaged by McEnroe and Connors early in his career as being not tough enough to compete at the top of the game. He answered that question.
