An update on the WTA Dubai event.

Svitolina beat Coco again, despite Coco winning the longest tiebreak so far this year 15-13. So, including their meeting at the Australian Open, Elna has won 4 of the last 5 sets they've played.
Not bad for a 31 yo Mom returning to tour.

Meanwhile, down 1-6 1-3 Pegula rallies to top Anismova in their semifinal.
In the quarters, Anismova came from behind to beat Mirra Andreeva 2-6 7-5 7-6(4)

I guess I should have put this over here, so cross posting this paragraph with Doha.

Pegula won over Svitolina today. I guess Elina ran out of gas after a couple excellent, long matches on the way to the fina.

" Speaking of which, the two best matches of the last couple of weeks were on the WTA side { ducking, I know some here will take exception automatically).
But Coco Vs Svitolina, and Anisimova vs Pegula were awesome and, shockingly, examples of variety and full court tennis. Real, tenacious, full court battles.
    Very entertaining.

Unlike their Australian Open match, where Coco evaporated, Elina vs Coco was high quality -- and fun. Same result, tho. At 31 yo and a mom, Svitolina is buffer and thinner than I've ever seen her. Takes dedication.

Also, Anisimova vs 18 yo Mirra Andreeva was good."
