I started playing with the Wilson Stan Smith, switched to Borg's Donnay racquet, then to the Head Vilas. Last year, I was able to find each of these racquets on Ebay. The good old days!!

I saw this video and I watched only a couple of minutes of it and then rushed to good old tennisplayer.net to post it. doctorhl had already done so and was thoughtful enough to mention me in the same breath as John McEnroe. Here is John shedding his professional shill personna speaking the truth. Trust me...he is tempering his language and toning down the reality of the thing. I am going to watch and enjoy the rest of this video. John is validating me and if there was a voice that I would choose to do so, I couldn't do any better than this one. I'd love to hear Bjorn Borg chime in. I was amazed to see this posted at the very top of the page. As soon as I saw the title of the thread I knew it was this video.

Modern tennis is FAKE tennis. McEnroe knows it. I know it. For me...that is enough. The last player to win a major with a wooden racquet. This stuff is becoming ancient history. Who controls the present controls the past. Whoever controls the past controls the future. Did I just make that up? I could go one step further...modern life is FAKE life. We will all know the answer to that one in about ten years.
