    A serve stance of Nadal

His front foot at a beginning of serve movement is perpendicular to a baseline
on majority of serves on an add side.
See a final of Shanghai Open
    Is it efficient?

Borg used to start with his foot pointing forward but then turn to foot to a classic position at the start of the motion. Nadal is doing the same, isn't he? Like Borg's, it's probably one of those unnecessary habits. Not sure it has any real impact on anything as it corrects itself immediately after the motion begins.

      Borg looks better,I think.

I would compare with 1st Add Front of Nadal

        Thanks for the clips!

Nadal twists his foot into position slightly later than Borg, but he does get there, doesn't he?

I much prefer Borg's serve, though. His action is so simple.

The issue is that Nadal swivels only 45 degrees instead of 90 degreees.

the first video Page 2 provides an intertesting picture of a swivel

Yes, I can see your point. Nadal doesn't rotate as much a he might throughout the whole action. Horrible looking serve too...never liked it.
