that is outstanding, thx for the article link... does that imply that folks with abbreviated motions leave a little something on the table (3.5-10mph?) obviously not a big deal if the entire motion is in the 100mph range, especially if it means improved accuracy and rhythm, etc...
someone like jarry being an extreme case where he starts in the trophy pose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUSHjCHGnm8, but even roddick has an obvious pause in his trophy pose... i guess he's losing something there too?

Ralph,
This article really gvies the picture. The racket does accelerate from the trophy position to the drop. It's just that the bulk of the acceleration happens from drop to contact.

I have been going over some of Chris Lewit's stuff. He mentioned a concept about the serve I never heard of. He said that the acceleration stage starts from the racquet drop. I have always started the acceleration from the bottom of the drop. Is Chris right?[Leave a comment:

Already have, put it up quite awhile ago. More to come eventually.

John...the 2019 Indian Wells thread is not recognizing new posts and seems to be stuck on "stroke's" post on 3-15 at 10:10 in the morning here in my time zone. Possibly 1:10 there in California. As of now there are 5 posts that are after that post.Leave a comment:

Stroke production has become very complicated and detailed from my early days of playing. Its fascinating.Leave a comment:

Well both Agassi and Djok use wiper at times on that finish. Depends on incoming ball and out going shot intent.Leave a comment:

Thanks for the response. The term ”elevated” must have come from terminolgy used in article I read some time ago to describe the low to high swing that ends over shoulder.Leave a comment:

I think the wiper is an independent variable that can be used to a lesser or greater extent on all forehands. Not exactly sure what you mean by elevated followthrough though?Leave a comment:
