Vilas' Racquet...
Head Vilas model...barely oversized. Graphite inlays in a wood open throat model. Strung at 56 lbs. with VS gut. Starting to sound just a bit like "equipment guy". I owned a couple at one point in ancient history.
Check out Arthur's tube socks.

Think this speaks volumes for the influence of racket and string technology. Look at the power generated today!
Notice at the start, that they fill their pockets with sawdust... I used to do that back then too... and, now big bags, just a couple of rackets and spare shirts...
