    Platform stance: thanks John

John, after my hip operation it took me a bit of time to get back to playing tennis, and my serve was off for some time. Just changed to the platform stance, instead of the pinpoint stance I have been using for years, and "presto", my serve, thanks to better foot stability, shoulder turn is back! Thank you!
    Regards, Phil

Good news for 2014! It's hard to turn with the pinpoint that's for sure.

Initially, I had difficulty making the change, my backfoot kept moving forward, until I consciously concentrated on putting weight on my backfoot during the windup. Sort of as pushing down with my right foot. Anyways, it was a great Christmas present. Will have to check now if my darned racket drop has also improved...

Yeah try bringing your elbow up higher and more forward and then let gravity take the racket to the drop.

On the platform, look at a Fed video and see where his weight is when his arms drop. That's a key image/feeling...
