    Contradictory tips on serve

    In this video, Jim McClellan says to lead with the elbow:

    and Brent Abel says the elbow goes up:



    Since we throw forward leading with the elbow, and throw upwards with the elbow going up, and the serve is about hitting up, seems to me that Abel's tip is more relevant than McClellan's... (he draws a parallel with a pitcher, but the pitcher throws forward)

    This is why i don't watch those guys. (or any of other zillion you tube experts...) It's all about the movement with the hand. The elbow can be higher or lower depending on the shoulder flexibility. But you have to think about moving the racket not the elbow.
