when don_budge does watch the final, he'll see Federer under pressure. Not in the way db or I would like to see pressure applied (From the net) but instead pressure was applied on Federer from...the baseline
.
Djokovic's speed, court coverage and his ability to send the ball back with interest made Federer feel like he had to hit the perfect ball, and when Federer missed, the seed of doubt was planted in Federer's head that he wouldn't be able to attack as easily. Putting pressure on Fed was the best way Djokovic could take pressure off himself.

Finally…I saw the match
I saw the match from start to finish. This was the most interesting match that I have seen in some time. It was a very well played match by both players and the pressure was relentless.
I took some notes and I have some thoughts. But basically there is one thing that is for certain…we are not going to see this kind of tennis once Roger Federer is gone. Even at 34 he is the only player in the professional game that can make it interesting. For all of Novak Djokovic's excellence he still doesn't come close to Federer when it comes to style…or appeal for that matter.
But I just might be biased.Comment
