Nadal pulls out of the French with a wrist injury. Shame, he was starting to look great again.

I wonder what the TV viewings are like? Just imagine if Djokovic went out? Would there anyone left watching at all? I imagine the game has become very dependent on its three key players.

            Djokovic - Murray final?

            Let's hope not.

Them-Zverev play tomorrow. That may be the most interesting match of the tournament thus far.

Berdych has a tricky match vs. Clay Court specialist Pablo Cuevas tomorrow. #rd match on court 1. In case anyone was interested.

Agree about Theim /Zverev being the match of the day. Looks like both could maybe win this at some point in their careers. Clearly the biggest question of this tournament is whether Novak can complete the career Slam, which is so elusive. I don't guess there is any chance Gasquet could pull an Albert Costa here?

Thiem and Zverev keep meeting rather early in the draw, and Thiem, usually starting slow, ends up winning. Great serve, variation on backhand - slice/topspin, heavy forehand, great dropshots, very agile in the forecourt. Hope he goes far...

                  Love Thiem. Smart coach too!

What, you never heard of him? What if I told you Gunther Bresnik is the only tour coach I know of with two players in the top 50 in the ATP rankings? Ernests Gulbis and Dominick Thiem. The son of two doctors, the owner of a (purposefully) small academy in Austria where he was born,...

Them took down Zverev in 4 sets. Beautiful picture of Thiem backhand in this article...

Djokovic advances and beats the fading light.

As does Berdych. Plays Ferrer next. Who he beat in Madrid.

It's just telling us what we already knew. Murray needs a nanny, not a coach.

I agree, but it is interesting with the French players history here. Gasquet has now beaten 2 players as an underdog. He will be a bigger underdog in every one of his next his remaining matches, however long he remains in the tournament. One thing Tennis Channel shot tracker revealed about Gasquet (in his win over Nick) was he was the only player that hits a bigger ball(on average) on his backhand vs his forehand. Gasquet hits about the same mph off both sides, but more rpm 's on the backhand(3080 vs 3030). Stan is similar, but his forehand is still slightly bigger on his backhand (on average). Gasquet hit one backhand vs Nick that was 4400 plus rpm 's.

Yes well he has a strange forehand Gasquet. What grip does he use, any idea? It looks almost continental from the shape of stroke during the preparation phase? Or does he just cock his wrist at an odd angle which gives it a continental impression?

                                4400 rpm's on a backhand seems insane.
