    Serving

Should I copy Andy Roddick service motion and how would I go about it. I read the thing that was most different about his service was the leg drive because he drives of both feet.

Those are two questions. Should I and How? First my own experience is that Andy's windup is very difficult to copy. Can't say I've seen anyone who has actually succeeded. I see a lot of players who destroy their rhythm and lose the racket drop. Sounds like I'm saying don't try right?

There are a lot of elements. The closer leg position, that I've seen some players experiment with more successfully.

Since you are new to the board, you haven't heard me say this, but really the only way I could tell anything significant about your serve would be if you attached some video.

I hear from a lot of people who have detailed technical questions--that are virtually irrelevant when I actually see the motion. That's why I don't waste time and energy giving people suggestions about how to change the things they are doing, unless I see what they are actually doing.

My service motion at the moment is different every serve.

I'd start with trying to get a consistent technically sound racket path. Check out the Sampras article on that.
