    Delray Beach

Just got my volunteer assignment for the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships. It looks like Agassi has now signed on for the tournament.

Would get a kick out of meeting others on the forum who might be there.

I'll have my Digital Rebel and a camcorder. Any tips?

Yeah film Agassi and forget about everything else on your forehand besides his turn and his finish...

Thank you. Consider it done. Was studying him earlier and used the thought tonight. My wiper is now doing the windshield instead of the floorboard and dashboard.

Still working on holding onto the racket with the left hand so as put it where it is supposed to be with the shoulder turn, but the shoulder turn is there. The results are pleasing, too.

Make that Tommy Haas clone. Just saw that he beat Malisse in the final at Delray Beach. Happened to get to see them practicing together last Monday.

            NBTA? New Balance Tennis Assoc.?

I saw some incredible soccer skills out of Malisse and his coach in the gym. Those guys understand balls and spin.

I also see that Knowles and Nestor won the doubles. Knowles kind of seemed to come out of the same South African mold as Ernie Els and Retief Goosen - very quiet, very self confident, very nice guy. The tournament desk ladies were impressed that he was about the only player who returned the practice balls as requested.

                Jeff Salzenstein

Over the last 3 years I've had a fascinating experience that ended up demonstrating this in my work with former Stanford star and tour player Jeff Salzenstein. Jeff had studied the Advanced Tennis high speed video on his own, and he understood the concept of the Sampras heavy ball.

Stanford, eh? I guess that would explain why he came across as being so intelligent and witty at the tournament desk. He made it through qualifying and did well at Delray Beach. The ladies loved him, too. :-) I wish I had known that he had studied the videos. I had them with me.
