Tricks to shortening up when returning

We all know to shorten up when returning hard serves. Shortening up has always been a problem area for me particularly on the fh side. Over the years I have a tried different "tricks" to get me to shorten up. One of my latest is to keep my elbows against my body and just turn to prevent a bigger backswing. Just wondering if others have shortening up suggestions.

Try starting in the abbreviated backswing return position. I also like to teach the image of the contact in front.

I suggest practicing the return to serve more than anyone else on earth practices it.
