    I cannot believe no one else has commented on this. It's like Tom Brady giving Peyton Manning poisoned gatorade or something... What is also so interesting historically is how all the players traveled and hung out together making this possible. Kovacs--that guy may have been a clown prince but had a really dark side.

      Yes it was a wonderful article. Many of these fine stories are lost in time and it's great when someone does the research and revives them. Frank Kovacs was an arrogant sod. He was the whistleblower on the under-the-table payments made to amateur players for entering tournaments. After he blew the whistle, he turned pro!
