Flat First Serve ??

hi John,
I wonder what it mean by hitting through the flat first serve. I know that a good flat serve still has spin in it but I do not know how we should hit it. Like the second serve we generate spin from hitting 7 o'clock to 1 o'clock or in that range. So on first serve how is the angle of the racket to the ball. Should we also hit from 7 but may be only to 12 and with more forward movement (going through the ball) ?? Hope u understand my bad English

The angles commonly used to describe spin on the serve, things like swing from 7 to 1, etc do not correspond to reality.

In the Heavy Ball section, read the articles on the serve and I think it will give you the ideas you need.
