    Forehand Volley

    John. Nice article Liked the emphasis on ;Shoulder' dominance so one does not get too "hansey" { is that a word?}

    However, there exist multiple volley "Feels":
    1. Standard "punch" volley { which you used on your video} I teach this one by telling student to think of a body part = elbow and/or a hitting sensation "punch".
    2. Low volley which is Hand and/or forward push
    3. High volley which is Shoulder and or/ wrist snap
    4.Block volley simply hold tight and block

    5. the important "first volley )( near or just in service line}== catch and follow through ( for depth}

    Bob,
    There are obviously a wide number of situations and positions that you have to hit volleys from. Suggest you read the Variations article which is a classic lesson this month. The core elements this article outlines apply across all the various applications.
    Personally I think the term punch is counterproductive. The main force is the push coming from the shoulder rotation.
