A well struck slice backhand, aside from the lob, may be the most effective shot for inducing fear and discomfort in opponents. It's extremely stylish, purposeful and creates numerous opportunities. It's a great disruptor and for those players obsessed with the "modern" game that commit to "modern" grips it is genius to make these players try to hit these low skidding balls. Use it as an approach or a set-up. Either way, learn how to master it. Thank your coach later.
