The solution is often not to fight fire with fire but rather to move the ball and control it with the body.
The other issue is to learn how to create what they call "liquid power." The very odd feeling of being loose and then accelerating right at contact or even just after it (in your mind). I am always amazed at how loose and fluid the pros can remain even after several hours of play.
