one handed backhand question

Does the hip rotate during the one handed shot or it is more the leg that move up and the body forward

It does rotate somewhat--and more with the more extreme grips. However in my opinion it would be a mistake to try to conscious do this. If the turn is right and you then move your hand through the swing pattern, it usually happens perfectly. In fact a better key is to try to stay sideways to minimize the common tendency to over rotate.
