Korda's next opponent is an extremely cagey and clever short, left-handed Japanese player named Yoshihito Nishioka. This little guy has taken down Sam Querry and Lorenzo Musetti already. definitely not to be underestimated. Golden opportunity for young Sebastian Korda who is steadily zeroing in on the big names. It is in his DNA.

I too think Korda to change USA top 30 player situation, sooner rather than later. I still like Fritz' game, and Opelka could definitely sneak through and win a big tournament anytime.

Wouldn't you know it...Tommy Paul slips in under the radar to post a semifinal match with Sebastian Korda. On clay no less. Solid win for Korda over the clever Japanese player. Ditto for Paul's win over Jan-Lennard Struff. Interesting stuff for the Americans in a sport where it appears to be headed for the dumpster.

Sebastian Korda did manage to take down #1 seed Lorenzo Sonego and he continued to dismantle the rest of his opponents as well. Took care of business in a very neat and tidy fashion to take his first ATP title at the age of 20. Soon to be 21. On to the French.
