Forward elbow movement from the serve trophy position?

So the elbow is pulled back, behind the body stretching the pec, and then at the initiation of the racquet drop which should roughly coincide with the leg drive (Roddick, Opelka, and others drive the legs first, some weaker servers drive the legs after) the elbow comes slightly in front of the chest, the racquet drops and we have liftoff.

Anyone do specific coaching on this? I find if the elbow is left behind it exposes the tendons on the inside of the elbow and creates a golfer's elbow situation in addition to lost power/hand speed but relaxing the arm and pushing with the legs doesn't really mesh with getting the elbow out in front.

    Thanks!

Don’t forget that the elbow gets to its position with some natural trunk rotation and lateral flexion( cartwheel) along with leg extension. Toss location as well as player emphasis on individual segments make for a lot of variability in timing of segment sequences. Sounds like trunk rotation is too fast and elbow gets caught out in front of chest, still in a heavily flexed position.

Think that is caused by raising or shoulder abduction. If you model the drop the contact and the extension well it should just happen.
