    Boris Hits Rock Bottom

    Ex-Wimbledon star sentenced to two and a half years for hiding assets to avoid paying debts.

    You can't have too much sympathy for Boris. How dumb and arrogant do you need to be to squander millions. Most of us could never dream have having so much money to lose! With a lesser barrister his sentence could well have been longer.

        The rumour going round is the judge was an Edberg fan.

          Already got his second and third chances: "

          Referring to Becker's previous conviction for tax evasion in Germany in 2002, she told the former world number one: "You did not heed the warning you were given and the chance you were given by the suspended sentence and that is a significant aggravating factor...

            Boris has been sent to Wandsworth prison which is a bloody awful place...equivalent to Rikers I would imagine.

                Below's link gives a little insight into what Boris will be having to go through. For the moment he has a cell on his own but that will change and god knows what creature he will have to share with. There is no privacy when it comes to using the toilet and no extractor fan either. It's going to be quite a change from his 5 star lifestyle.

                The German authorities should have put him behind bars in 2002 as he would have learnt his lesson by now. The harsher lessons in life are best learn young. What a come down.

                  Update: Becker transferred to "specialist prison", which may be a step toward deportation.

                  TheMail:

                  In the months before the prison’s most recent inspection in 2017, of 197 men freed, 185 had been immediately deported, while 12 had been released into the community in England.

                  ~~~~
                  At Wandsworth, the former BBC tennis commentator had been held on C-wing – which houses ‘vulnerable prisoners’ including paedophiles and policemen likely to face attack.
                  Huntercombe, in contrast, has a ‘well-resourced library’ and a gym and was described in the most recent inspection as a ‘safe, decent and purposeful’ prison.
                  The report said levels of violence and the use of segregation were low and prisoners were generally treated ‘with respect’.
                    Boris and his family will be relieved. Wandsworth is a terrible place to be holed up. It will have taught him a lesson, however.
                      I doubt it. About any lesson.
