Since AI driven chat bots are getting buzz (And supposedly driving emergency meetings where Google fears having its search business erased), I tried simple yet uncertain questions of ChatGPT, a purported leader of the craft. On the other hand, the bot's grammar is better than that of some sports writers. If I see better projections by any humanoids, I'll share those

Two points of digression on AI.

The supposed measure of if and when computers reach sentience is the "Turing Test", where you can not distinguish that the respondent in a dialog is a machine. I think we've reached the point where the test is proved invalid. This computer is more responsive than the average CSR rep apparently proving that language capability is not proof of intelligence.

Second, a quote from an AI expert, from memory: "If AI destroys mankind it won't be like Skynet, it will be when an automated paperclip factory fails to stop making paper clips until we're all buried alive in them." <g>
