The power of Tennis Imagery??

Researchers asked unresponsive patients in a vegetative state ( eyes open, but no motor movement-covert consciousness), to imagine themselves playing tennis or walking at home. Included in the study was a healthy subject put under general anesthesia. Analyzing fMRI brain scans, researchers were able to determine covert consciousness in a sizable portion of the subjects. Interesting that tennis was chosen as the motor response variable.

Quite an article. Interesting that motor imagery activates a unique region of the brain that can be studied.
