Great article! I always wondered why batters rarely stand at the plate in their bullpen to warmup their eye and footwork for ball and plate awareness form a pitcher warming up. I know they will be facing a pitcher with a different release, but it seems that it would be a good warmup,at least for the first at bat. A five minute match warmup in tennis requires one to quickly settle in to ball bounce awareness and opponent serve delivery. Perhaps Sean can give us some tips for implementing an immediate prematch practice and 5 minute match warmup awareness protocol in his next article.

      Doctorhl,
Just to clarify, you’re asking for optimal approach for the 5-minute pre-match warm-up?
      thanks,
      Sean

Yes, the prematch warmup. In addition, perhaps tips on how a match day practice might deviate( if any) from regular practice in regards to ball awareness.
