quite odd that he's talking of approach shots, but puts on the brakes and stops in every one of his examples and does not follow to net. -

No, but I think his point is the intent. His intent is to try to be as level as possible. I'm thinking that he has to raise the back shoulder some due to a sort of high contact point on this shot. I went thru this thought process when I saw this vid, sort of like you, and came up with this theory.Comment
